Career Services takes pride in guiding students through their college experience and preparing them with their professional development and career path after graduation. During your time at Flashpoint, you’ll be able to take advantage of the following services that start your first year:
Workshops – Career services hosts a series of weekly workshops, covering various professional development topics such as Résumé 101, Social Media, Networking, Portfolio Preparation, Professional Correspondence, Interview Skills, and more!
Office Hours – Although Career Services has an Open Door Policy, weekly office hours are held; in which students have the opportunity to meet with their Career Services Advisor, one-on-one, to discuss and address any questions you have regarding your professional development, i.e., career goals, job search strategies, internship guidelines.
Field Trips – Throughout the school year, the Career Services Team takes a group of students to various industry related companies throughout Chicago. This is a great way for students to learn about their related industry, see how they can put their degrees and skills into action, as well as help students think outside the box in regards to getting their foot in the door in the their industry of interest.
Part-Time Job Assistance – Career Services offers a number of resources to assist our student body with their part-time job search, including Federal Work Study (FWS), an online job board, as well as a Part-Time Job Fair. The part-time jobs sourced, range from opportunities across all industries and are not focused solely on the digital media arts.
Internship Fairs – Career Services hosts an annual Internship Fair for all current students. The intention of the Internship Fair is to facilitate industry introductions among students and employers actively hiring interns. This event also strengthens students’ skills in the areas of networking and interviewing.

Career Fairs – Career Services organizes annual Career Fairs for graduating students. Employers from all over the United States are invited to attend in order to meet students and view their body of work. These events are ideal for facilitating industry related employment opportunities, while emphasizing the importance of networking and branding yourself throughout the job search.
