Flashpoint will review your record and certify your degree following the end of your final term once final grades are received to confirm if all degree requirements are met. You may order an official degree transcript as soon as your degree is officially recorded on your academic record, usually within three to four weeks after the end of your last term.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DEGREE AND A DIPLOMA?
- A degree is the academic rank or grade earned by completing a specified program or study.
- A diploma is an ornamental paper displaying the name of that degree, intended as a memento of graduation.
WHAT OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS CAN FLASHPOINT PROVIDE TO CONFIRM MY DEGREE ONCE IT HAS BEEN AWARDED?
Flashpoint can provide the following as proof of your degree:
- Official Transcript. Once your degree has been recorded on your academic record, it will appear on this document. Request a transcript.
- Verification of Degree. Written or verbal confirmation of your degree provided by the Registrar’s Office. Please email the Registrar’s Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHEN WILL I GET MY DIPLOMA?
Your diploma will be sent to your address listed on the graduation application approximately 2-3 months after your last term. Failure to provide the Registrar’s Office an updated address after submission of the graduation application may result in further delay.
WHAT IS THE OFFICIAL GRADUATION DATE?
Your official graduation date is the end of the last term in which all your degree requirements were completed for your degree. This date will be reflected on your diploma. If you walked at the graduation ceremony, the graduation ceremony date is not your graduation date.
MAY I CHANGE THE ADDRESS TO WHICH MY DIPLOMA WILL BE MAILED?
You may change your address by emailing email@example.com. Otherwise, it will be mailed to the address you listed on the graduation application.
MAY I MAKE SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR RECEIVING MY DIPLOMA?

WHAT IF I HAVE FINISHED ALL OF MY DEGREE REQUIREMENTS, BUT MY DEGREE WILL NOT BE RECORDED FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, AND I NEED WRITTEN PROOF THAT MY DEGREE HAS BEEN EARNED?
If you are an upcoming graduating student and you need a formal letter verifying that you have met all degree requirements, contact the Registrar’s Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
IF I FAILED ANY CLASS(ES) IN MY LAST TERM AND PARTICIPATED AT THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY, WILL I RECEIVE MY DIPLOMA?
No, regardless of participation in the Commencement ceremony, all degree requirements must be completed before conferral of the degree and delivery of the diploma. In order to retake any class(es), the following must take place:
