Start your own Hero’s Journey now!
Every student at Flashpoint is a storyteller. The majors offered at Flashpoint require that each student be able to craft and tell their own story in whatever medium they choose. The medium may change, but one thing stays constant: the formula for storytelling. Enrolled students can learn this essential formula before starting at Flashpoint through a blended on-line and on-campus series called The Hero’s Journey.
This series consists of online tutorials and on-campus activities that bring the hero cycle to life. New students, enrolled at Flashpoint for the summer and fall 2018 terms, who attend these workshops and complete all assigned coursework will receive credit for the college course LITl0l: The Hero’s Journey upon completion of their first term at Flashpoint.
Online videos will be emailed to each participant with an assignment that corresponds to the video. A total of three on-campus activities will bring the participants together to work on group projects that flesh out the concepts they are learning. The workshops will be held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Upcoming Saturday Workshop Dates:
- March 24, 2018
- April 28, 2018
- May 5, 2018
Participants are required to attend all workshops in their entirety and complete all assigned coursework in order to receive credit.
