My largest challenge with RP is being organized. I try to overcome this by staying on top of important dates, speaking with clients, and making sure the quality of anything we produce is A1.
What would you say is one of the most important assets to have in your line of work?
One of the most important assets I would say is our reputation. Since its such a tight niche, we market to a very specific audience and hope the word spreads after a job well done.
What advice do you have for individuals specifically interested in your field of work?
For those interested in starting their own sports production company, I would say be involved within the sports community get to speak with athletic directors, coaches, parents, staff, etc. Make sure they know you exist!
What piece of advice do you have for Flashpoint candidates preparing to enter their respective industry?
Take a deep breath, it will all work out! Stay patient and when the opportunity comes forth, take it with out hesitation!
How did your experience at Flashpoint help you join your industry?
My experience with Flashpoint helped me become more film orientated which led to better professionalism when filming.
What would you look for if an opportunity to potentially hire Flashpoint graduates came along?
If I had the opportunity to hire Flashpoint graduates, I would look for organization and the hustle it takes to succeed!
What was your favorite thing about Flashpoint?
My favorite thing about Flashpoint was actually learning the business aspect of owning a production company and all the bells and whistles of going from project to project.
Name one thing that made you choose Flashpoint over other colleges.
I don’t believe he works there anymore, but one of the main reasons I went to Flashpoint was because of Rodney (my counselor). The way that man spoke, made me believe anything was possible in my life, and it is!
If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?
If I had to do it all over again, I would most definitely get in the habit of staying better organized and on top of dates!
